We started with the floor plan, brainstorming ways to accommodate how they live their lives (how many family members come for Thanksgiving dinner, where do they want their daughter to play, where to work when they work from home, etc.) and designed a floor plan that worked for them.
This dream project was a full custom build on 7 acres in Bedford, NY for a growing family. With busy lives in sports reporting and finance, the couple wanted a spacious yet cozy respite from their busy and chaotic lives.
Knowing their busy travel schedules, we wanted their space to have a spa-like experience, so we focused on bringing nature in through natural materials, floor to ceiling windows and easy access to the outdoors through sliders and French doors in almost every space.
They asked that their primary bedroom act as their own private haven, so we incorporated a spa-like bathroom with a large shower and tub facing the property, a seating area with 2 chaises to cozy up in robes and read, and access to their own outdoor patio to listen to nature and unwind from the hectic week.
